"La Selva" area is a large-sized paradise: more than 1000 hectares, 700 of which covered with Mediterranean wood.Here wild boars, deers, foxes, pheasants, hares, porcupines and many species of birds can breed in a natural state.The farm core is a central village consisting of old peasant houses framing the wonderful XII century master's villa. On the surrounding hills, many farmhouses , churches and defensive works peep in the luxuriant wood. Almost all of them are perfectly refitted,completely furnished and can always offer the best comfort. More tham 20 kilometres of dirt roads and paths wind along woods and fields, allowing to enjoy the landscape and the natural beauties enhanced by spring enchantment or autumn colours. In autumn, mushrooms or chestnuts harvesting allows especially easy and rewarding successes. Three ponds are available for fishing in different spots of the farm, one of which especially interesting historically and naturally speaking. This naturalistic enchantment just near Siena can be run by mountain-bike,horse or simply on foot. Limousine cattle is bred in a wild state all over the pastures. Its flesh, genuine and tasty, is directly sold in the farm store, from Thursday to Sunday, with the other "la Selva" products: pork, fresh or matured sausages, red and white wines, extra vergine olive oil. Quality and tradition of our products are fully guaranteed. La Selva farm is also a well-known and prestigious breeding and training Quarter Horse centre. Some field professionals and highly qualified AIMW (Italian Western Riding Association) instructors take personally care of the breeding. Western riding lessons are given from beginner level to competitive training. A few kilometres far from La Selva stands Murlo, an important archaeological spot. In the palace , the ancient see of the Bishops of Siena, many Etruscan finds can be seen. In the surroundings there are the ruins of a VI - V century b.C. great residence. From La Selva can easily be reached in a short time many fascinating resorts like S.Gimignano,Volterra, Florence, Monteriggioni, S.Galgano abbey, Monte Oliveto Abbey, Montalcino, Pienza, Arezzo and , of course, Siena, which is only 18 Km far from the farm.
